Certn looks east for its new head of North America

As background screening tech company Certn expands internationally, it needs to appoint executives to lead regional areas. To that end, it hired Torontonian Laura Main as the managing director of North America.

In this role, she will oversee operations and growth across the continent. Main arrived at Certn with over a decade of experience working in leadership roles in the digital media and advertising technology sectors. She joins Certn from Quantcast, where she helped to roll out various platforms and led go-to-market strategy. Prior to that, she was a country manager at Adglow, a social media strategy firm, where she launched the European company's Canadian market and grew its team.

“Laura's technology management expertise will help guide the company as we continue to make our platform stronger, better, faster, and more comprehensive,” said Certn CEO Andrew McLeod.

Certn recently hired a new chief product officer, raised a Series B funding round, and appointed Michael Whittington to the role of managing director for Certn EMEA and Credence Background Services. The firm also was named a LinkedIn top 15 startup in Canada.
