Douglas Magazine, the Victoria premier media brand that inspires readers with in-depth, local coverage of business leadership, announced which promising startups in Victoria won its ‘10 to Watch’ awards.

Now in its 15th year, the initiative spotlights new businesses less than three years old who show incredible promise in their field: HAVN Saunas, Small Gods Brewing, Ritual Nordic Spa, ArtRow, This Week’s Lunch!, GoChip, Ocean AID, Zingaro Floral Perfumery, Philosophy MD, and Home Based Recovery.

“The awards recognize local entrepreneurship in all its variety, and the innovators who have created some of the region’s most exciting new businesses,” says Lise Gyorkos, president of Douglas’ parent company Page One Publishing.

According to Douglas, over 90% of the 130 businesses celebrated to date have gone on to achieve long-term success — some of which receiving international acclaim.

🪵 Dynamic duo: NUQO Modular, the female-led, Indigenous construction company, is partnering with Natural Pod, the sustainable education furniture company, to accelerate and improve educational infrastructure in BC’s underserved communities and beyond.

🚀Accelerator take off: Rochelle Grayson, program leader of New Ventures BC’s Mosaic Accelerator, the mentorship program that supports non-technical, marginalized, and BIPOC women in building their startup, announced the participants and companies of the spring cohort.

🎉 Decade milestone: Neil Henderson, CEO of Redbase, the legacy business of the software platform for digital entrepreneurs Redbrick, celebrated 10 years with the company and shared reflections from his journey of growth.
