MeepMeep takes home a side deal at Investment Summit

Startup TNT hosted its Investment Summit Finale in cities across Western Canada last week — including in Vancouver, where Victoria’s MeepMeep was recognized with a side deal.

MeepMeep makes smart accessories for disc golf, which is exactly what it sounds like — a golf-like sport where you throw a disc, similar to a frisbee, towards a basket. The hobby has gained in popularity in recent years, with courses littered along the coast of Vancouver Island.

However, unlike golf — where losing a ball isn’t the end of the world — continually losing golf discs can become expensive. That’s where MeepMeep comes in.

The company’s disc locators, controlled from a smart phone app, stick to the bottom of any standard disc and emit an alarm. The disc locators are designed to withstand the toughest conditions, including ”puddles, ponds, snow, and beer spills.”
