Revenue growth earns Victoria companies national recognition
Last week, the Globe and Mail released its annual ranking of Canada’s fastest growing companies — which this year featured three Victoria-based tech businesses.
Now in its sixth year, the list evaluates companies based on three-year revenue growth and requires firms to undergo a detailed application process.
Out of 416 companies, these Victoria techies stand out:
Certn: Coming in at number 63, Certn reported 662% three-year revenue growth. The company, which provides online background screening, also made last year’s list at number 16.
Premier Cloud: The security and cloud services company was ranked 103rd with 382% growth. In 2023, the company made the list in the 140th position.
Shift: Solar and energy storage company Shift was listed at number 147 and reported 304% growth.
“Earning a ranking on this list for the third consecutive year is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire Premier Cloud team,” said Daniel Azad, the company’s president and CEO. “This achievement reaffirms the trust our clients place in our team to drive measurable outcomes with their Google Cloud investments.”

🌳 It’s our planet and we love it: Joni, the Victoria-based period care company, was certified as a B-corporation.
🤝 Let’s get it started in here: Eupraxia Pharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage biotech company, welcomed two new senior leaders to its team — chief scientific officer Amanda Malone added chief operating officer to her title, and Rahul Sarugaser joined as executive vice president of corporate development.
