Victoria Tech Week turns the city into a tech showcase for five days

Victoria Tech Week runs September 21 to 25, with fifty free events taking place at venues across Greater Victoria. Rather than a single conference in a single building, local companies open their own doors and host the programming — putting the whole city on display as the venue.
The format follows the model of similar events in Boulder, Seattle, and New York. Events range from funding panels and AI workshops to rooftop networking, marine tech demos in the harbour, and a coffee crawl on golf carts. For companies without their own space, event hubs including Fort Tectoria, the COAST Ocean Innovation Hub, Infusion Play, North House Victoria, and UVic are opening their doors.
Victoria Tech Week is organized by VIATEC and Marc Stoiber. The sector it showcases generates close to $6 billion in annual revenue, has an economic impact of close to $8 billion, and employs more than 20,000 people across the region.
"Victoria's tech sector doesn't have gates or velvet ropes, it has open doors," said VIATEC CEO Dan Gunn. "If you've ever wondered where you'd fit in this industry, Victoria Tech Week is your answer. Walk in, ask a question, and you'll find you already belong here."
The full event calendar is available at victoriatechweek.ca.
